Hudson River Community Credit Union (HRCCU) has once again earned the highest rating for strength and stability from BAUERFINANCIAL, Inc.’s, the nation’s credit union rating firm. Earning Bauer’s coveted 5-Star Superior rating indicates that HRCCU is one of the strongest credit unions in the country, excelling in such areas as capital adequacy, delinquent loan levels and profitability. In, fact, HRCCU has earned this top rating for the past 63 consecutive quarters. Having earned a 5-Star rating for more than ten years running, HRCCU has earned itself the added distinction of being an Excepti onal Performance Credit Union.
“As the number of “problem” financial institutions continues to grow,” comments Karen L. Dorway, President of BauerFinancial, “the fact that Hudson River Community Credit Union cannot just withstand the pressures, but even excel in this environment, indicates its management is doing things right. Bauer’s stringent 5-Star requirements haven’t changed, but the climate defi nitely has and the fact that Hudson River Community Credit Union has earned this prestigious rating sets it well above its peers.”

Supervising Safety from the Front Line – “Hope is not a Solution”
The Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) currently requires development and approval of plans for control of specific hazards, but will work on regulations to improve the effectiveness of these existing plans. MSHA will also publish a Request for Information (RFI) about the possible imposition of a new requirement of a comprehensive health and safety management program for all mines. The RFI will solicit information in the areas of management commitment and employee involvement; work site analysis; hazard prevention controls; safety and health training; pre-shift inspection; violations of any mandatory safety or health standards and correction of those which are identified; and program evaluation.
Scott McKenna, Sam Scribe and Ron Witt, of Catamount Consulting LLC New York and Pennsylvania, have collaborated to put together a two day training seminar covering MSHA Supervisor Training. The Supervisor Seminar encompasses prevention of accidents, the role of the supervisor, motivating your team and teambuilding, handling litigation, MSHA compliance, handling MSHA Inspections and creating a positive environment. People in every workplace talk about building the team, working as a team, and “my team”, but few understand how to create the experience of team work or how to develop an effective team. Participants will learn how to build a team that will be proactive in handling accident prevention and MSHA compliance.
The MSHA Supervisor Training Seminar will take place November 2-3, 2010 at Holiday Inn Harrisburg in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania. The cost to attend is $550 per person. More information on the seminar can be found at http://www.catamountconsultingllc.com/msha.html or by calling Catamount Consulting at (518) 623-2352.
