And in this corner...

Did you hear the one about the ruckus
caused by speaking up in the name of community?

It all began with a letter. Remember those?
Written by hand and sent via postal carrier?
Granted, this one was typed, but it was still sent through the mail.

Here it is in its entirety :

That letter, coupled with indefatigable representation of the business community through attendance of meetings, public advocacy and behind the scenes efforts to create positive change, sparked the aforementioned ruckus.

Soon there will be more. Todd Shimkus reached out to Fifth Ward Councilman Bennet Driscoll, asking that efforts be made to salvage a deal with Travelers. Mr. Driscoll shared his intentions to approach Mike Mender,"to make sure that a resolution will be added to next Tuesday's agenda instructing the Mayor to work with the EDC and contact again representatives from Traveler's."

Councillors Jim Brock, Judy Villa White and Michael Busch all verbally agreed to support this resolution.

Stay tuned.
