A Letter of thanks & an invitation

Dear Friends,

Many of you are aware that in September, our company built a home for a deserving family in Athens , Vermont at the request of ABC’s “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition”. We have received word that the show will air on Sunday, December 9th at 8:00 pm Eastern Standard Time.

The Vitale family and their two sons were living in an old deer camp. Two years ago, Louie Junior was born with multiple birth defects, and his health was at risk because of his living conditions.

ABC required that the contractor solicit donations of time and materials for the project, that we design and manage the entire build, and that the house be built in 7 days with only a few weeks to prepare! We were responsible for the clean-up and we cover this house with our warranty just as we do with all our clients.

This will be the only Extreme Makeover show filmed in Vermont. Our house is unique in that it is a 5 Star + Energy Star Home. It is built with insulating concrete forms, sprayed-in urethane foam, fiberglass windows, Photovoltaic solar panels, rated appliances, efficient mechanical systems and light fixtures. It is compliant with ADA handicap requirements, and is tailor-fit for the family’s needs.

Everyone at The McKernon Group is very thankful for the support we received from so many of you. It is gratifying to be a part of an endeavor where we all work together for one cause. It not only has sharpened our skills as a design-construction company, but it has given us a sense of purpose as we continue to unite with our community.
