The over-spending continues...

In response to the Warren County Board of Supervisors voting to increase the sales tax less than one hour ago, the ARCC has issued the following statement from President/CEO Todd L. Shimkus:

"We're disappointed but not surprised. Several Supervisors said one thing before the election only to do something else three weeks later. There is a real pattern here of overspending in Warren County and creating new excuses every week to justify raising taxes. In 2010, the ARCC will petition the newly elected Board of Supervisors to rescind today's action because it will shift millions from local cash registers into county coffers doing further harm to our region's economic recovery. We will also immediately request that Senator Little and Assemblywoman Sayward oppose the legislation required to pass this tax increase to avoid becoming accomplices to this pattern of overspending and overtaxing in Warren County."
