Major Changes for Have a Seat "Chair-itable" Auction

Glens Falls, NY – The time has nearly arrived for the live auction of the thirty-eight artist-designed Adirondack chairs that have decorated downtown Glens Falls for the entire summer. In order to ensure that the ending of Have A Seat in Glens Falls is as successful as the rest of the campaign has been, the Have a Seat committee has decided to make some important changes regarding the auction.

First, there is now no cost to attend. The "Chair"-itable Auction is FREE to anyone who wants to join the party, no reservations required! Second, the the date and time have been changed. The auction will now take place on Wednesday, September 22; the preview starts at 6:30PM, the live auction begins at 7PM. Third, there is a new location. The auction will be held at 166 Glen Street (next to The Chocolate Mill) – right in the middle of where the excitement has been all summer! Look for the auction sign in the window. And last, it’s important to note that there are no minimum bids and no reserve bids, so you could get a great deal on a fine piece of functional art.

Martin Seelye will still be the auctioneer extraordinaire for the evening, sure to entertain. Artists will receive 25% of the sale price of their chairs, and any proceeds from the project will benefit the City Park Restoration Project, Crandall Public Library, and Lower Adirondack
Regional Arts Council. Artists will be touching up their chairs if necessary to ensure that they are auctioned off in pristine condition.

So, let’s recap the changes:
1) The auction is now FREE to attend and reservations are NOT required.
2) It’s happening Wednesday, September 22, 2010 at 6:30PM.
3) The location is 166 Glen Street, right next to The Chocolate Mill.
4) There are no minimum bids and no reserves.

It has been the planning committee’s pleasure to bring this project to Glens Falls and witness the interest it has generated all summer long. Now we hope you will help us bring Have a Seat in Glens Falls to a successful (and fun!) conclusion by attending the free "Chair"-itable auction on Wednesday, September 22. Whether you intend to bid on a chair or just want to experience the excitement, you are welcome to attend. Come join us for the festive finale of the first annual Have a Seat in Glens Falls.
