South Glens Falls Mayor Donohue and Glens Falls National Bank and Trust Company Announce Sponsorship and Theme for 2010 Holiday Parade

South Glens Falls Mayor Keith Donohue, along with President, Chairman and C.E.O., Tom Hoy of Glens Falls National Bank and Trust Company announced that Glens Falls National Bank will sponsor the 31st Annual 2010 Holiday Parade to be held November 21st in South Glens Falls.

Mayor Donohue stated, “It is our pleasure to have Glens Falls National host the holiday parade once again this year in the Village of South Glens Falls. It has been a tradition in our Village for decades and brings thousands of people of all ages into our great community. Because of the Glens Falls National employees and volunteers this tradition lives on. All of you took this parade to new heights last year and as the Mayor of South Glens Falls I look forward to another great parade on November 21st.”

Glenn Ellsworth, Assistant Vice President and South Glens Falls Office Manager of Glens Falls National Bank will Chair the Bank’s sponsorship. Glenn is from South Glens Falls with a long-time commitment to the community. Glenn stated, “I am honored to spearhead this year’s Holiday Parade and announce the theme as A Child’s Holiday Wish.”

Maintaining the tradition of the Sunday before Thanksgiving, the parade will begin at 1 p.m. on November 21, 2010. It will showcase community groups, bands, floats, costumed characters and conclude with a special guest, Santa Claus.

Glens Falls National Bank & Trust Company, along with the Village of South Glens Falls will be accepting applications for bands, floats, marchers, entertainment and sponsorship of participating groups for this important community event. Through the years, the parade has attracted over 20,000 spectators annually and has been enjoyed by all ages.
