Hyde announces new board members

Glens Falls, NY – The Hyde Collection has announced the recent appointment of four new members to its 2011 board of trustees – Mark Behan, Peter Hoffman, Phil McIntire, and Karl Seitz.

Mark Behan founded Behan Communications in 1988 after a career as a reporter and media executive with several news organizations. Behan Communications, with offices in Albany and Glens Falls, provides strategic communications, media relations and marketing services to leading businesses and not-for-profit organizations in New York and the Northeast. Behan serves on the boards of Adirondack Health Services, Inc., the Economic Development Corp. of Warren County, the Glens Falls Foundation, the E. Leo Spain Foundation and Kelly’s Angels Inc. He is a graduate of Colgate University and has completed executive development programs at the Harvard Business School and the Harvard Law School.

Peter Hoffman, principal of Glen Street Associates, has been involved in all aspects of real estate, including construction, leasing, and property management, for more than 40 years. He and his wife Suzanne have restored and modernized several downtown buildings into professional office space for such tenants as NBT Bank and Behan Communications. Glen Street Associates also owns, leases, and manages residential rental units. Through his company, Hoffman is currently expanding the firm’s apartment inventory in South Glens Falls and is working on future projects in Hudson Falls.

Phil McIntire returns to The Hyde board, having achieved Emeritus Trustee status for his previous service as a trustee at the Museum. He served on The Hyde board from 1999-2007, and was chairman from 2001-2003, during the Hyde House restoration and the Education Wing addition. He has also served as The Hyde’s legal counsel. McIntire is a partner at Bartlett Pontiff Stewart and Rhode PC in Glens Falls. His wife Rita is also a long-standing volunteer at the Hyde.

Karl Seitz has been a portfolio composition and management advisor for twenty-six years and earned a designation as a Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMA) from the Wharton business school. He holds a BA in Economics from Franklin and Marshall College. Before joining Wells Fargo Advisors, Karl was a First Vice President at Merrill Lynch for twenty-three years. He lives in Slingerlands, New York with his wife Kim and their four children and is active in supporting community activities. Seitz currently serves as Chairman of the Pastoral Council at the Parish of Mater Christi in Albany, NY.
