Everyone's talking about this ad

It's hard to believe anyone in this region could have missed the ad entitled: "Turn Down the Gloom and Doom." Sponsored by Glens Falls National Bank and Trust Company, this two-page ad (double truck I think is the technical term) appeared in both the Chronicle and the Post Star. The morning the ad came out, I heard an executive from a competitor financial institution praise the message and the ad itself. Now in case you missed it, the ad is online for everyone to see.

This ad speaks to the fact that in spite of some genuine challenges that our region is relatively well off when compared with many other areas of New York State and our nation. Do we have issues? Yes...our taxes are way too high. Our health insurance premiums continue to go up exponentially. And the rainy weather in August is hurting our region's tourism economy.

But we're also seeing new development spring up right before our eyes and private investments in new equipment, jobs and facilities throughout Warren, Washington and Northern Saratoga Counties. So kudos to Glens Falls National for giving us some perspective and a chance to reflect on the good things that we might otherwise overlook. And if you haven't seen the ad, please click here to do so.
