Get Carducated Video Contest

To help young adults to become financially saavy, Hudson River Community Credit Union, along with Covera Card Solutions and 67 credit unions throughout the Northeast, are calling for students to submit a short video about responsible debit, credit and ATM card use – including why it’s important, lessons they’ve learned, or any other pertinent angle.

The Get Carducated Video Contest is open to members of participating credit unions between the ages of 16 and 21 who are currently attending college or will be college-bound by October 2012. Videos will be accepted through October 31. All submissions will be uploaded to the Get Carducated YouTube channel for public viewing. Once uploaded, participants can ask their friends, relatives, neighbors, classmates and others to view their video. They can also share it through Facebook, Twitter and other social media outlets.

The three videos with the most views as of Nov. 1, 2010, will win one of the following prizes: Grand prize is a $5,000 college sholarship; Second place is a MacBook and a $500 textbook credit; and Third place is an iPhone and a $250 textbook credit. Plus, the first 25 participants to submit an eligible video will automatically win a $25 iTunes gift card.

Local teens can visit www.getcarducated.com to find out more about the contest and how to enter. The website features an introductory video, a list of participating credit unions, contest details, entry forms, plus a closer look at the contest mascot, Carducator. Contest participants under age 18 are required to provide parent/legal guardian consent on the entry form.
