ARCC Honors 14 Leadership Adirondack Graduates

The ARCC recently honored fourteen of the region’s emerging leaders as graduates of the 2009-2010 Leadership Adirondack program.

To graduate, each of the participants took part in a two-day overnight Leadership retreat in September 2009. This program was held at the Fort William Henry Resort and Conference Center, on Lake George, and was facilitated by Teams on Purpose.

In October, November, December and January, the class participants spent a total of seven days from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. learning about the region’s challenges and opportunities. They met with a diverse range of local leaders to learn about our region’s educational systems, economic development strategies, and the region’s arts, history and cultural organizations. They took part in a day of caring where they volunteered at several nonprofit organizations in Washington and Warren Counties. They also spent one day meeting with a local attorney, financial planner, an insurance broker and leading volunteers to explore ways to be an effective volunteer. They are also required to work as a team on a community service project and as a result launched a raffle ticket fundraiser to raise money for the Open Door Soup Kitchen.

The Chamber’s Leadership Adirondack program has been in existence for more than 20 years. The ARCC counts more than 200 current local residents as graduates of the Leadership Adirondack program during this time. These graduates are often people you’ll see serving as volunteers for area nonprofit and charitable boards and committees.

The members of the Leadership Adirondack Class of 2010 includes: Whitney Bascue, NBT Bank; Guinevere Forshey Crandall Public Library; Dr. Jonathan C. Gerber, Gerber Family Chiropractic/LiveWell ADK; Robert Grugle, TD Bank; Danielle Harris, Glens Falls Hospital; Tyler Herrick, The Sagamore; Sandra Hoffis, Glens Falls National Bank; Carrie Java, Tribune Media Services; John Marcantonio, ARCC; Monique Marcil, Tribune Media Services; Mark Parfitt, Adirondack Community College; Scott Rogers, Associates of Glens Falls; Craig Seybolt, Glens Falls National Bank; and Jennifer Turcotte, Keena Staffing.
